This book is based on a 2007 conference held in Manila with the theme, “Turning Transnational? International Migration and Development Prospects in the Philippines.”

The volume include selected papers presented at the conference and contributions based on issues that surfaced in the conference discussions. The volume provides an overview of the debates, opportunities and challenges facing the Philippines as it strives to develop in the face of migration. In all, the book offers readings in the international migration-development nexus in the country through the lens of research, policy, and advocacy and action.
